Updated October 2026. This post is for education only and is not investment advice. Figures and rules change, so check official sources before you act.
There are hundreds of stock market websites, and nobody can follow them all. For Indian investors, a short list covers almost everything: official filings, company financials, charts and news. These are the seven I would bookmark, and what each one is best for.
Key takeaways
- Use the exchange websites, NSE and BSE, for official filings and announcements.
- Use Screener for fast fundamental analysis of a company.
- Use Moneycontrol or Investing.com for prices, charts and portfolio tracking.
- Use ET Markets and Mint for news and context.
- Treat forum comments and tips as noise until you have checked the filing yourself.
The seven websites at a glance
| Website | Best for |
|---|---|
| NSE India | Official filings, corporate actions, index and derivatives data |
| BSE India | Filings for the widest set of listed companies |
| Moneycontrol | Prices, news, portfolio and watchlists |
| Screener | Company financials and stock screening |
| Investing.com | Charts, technical indicators and global markets |
| ET Markets | Market news through the day |
| Mint | Deeper reporting on markets, business and the economy |
1. NSE India
NSE India is the official website of the National Stock Exchange. Because listed companies must file with the exchange, this is the primary source for quarterly results, shareholding patterns, corporate announcements and bulk and block deals. It also carries historical data for the Nifty indices, IPO information and derivatives data. If a number matters to your decision, check it here.
2. BSE India
BSE India is the website of the Bombay Stock Exchange. It offers much the same official information as NSE, and covers more companies, because more companies are listed on the BSE. For smaller companies that are not on the NSE, this is where the filings are.
3. Moneycontrol
Moneycontrol is one of the most widely used finance sites among Indian investors. It combines live prices, news, mutual fund data, company information and charts, and lets you track a portfolio and build watchlists. It also has a mobile app.
Its stock discussion forums can help you find out why a share is moving, but be careful. Many posts are speculation or promotion, so verify anything you read there against the company’s filings.
4. Screener
Screener is an excellent site for fundamental analysis. It lays out a company’s profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, ratios, quarterly results and peer comparison on one clean page, and lets you filter the market by your own criteria. Much of it is free. I use it often to get a quick read on a company’s financials, and it saves a great deal of time compared with digging through annual reports.
5. Investing.com
Investing.com is useful for charts, technical indicators and a stock screener, along with global indices, commodities and currencies. I use it for technical analysis because the indicators are easy to apply.
6. ET Markets
ET Markets, from The Economic Times, is a good way to keep up with market news through the day, with morning and evening summaries if you missed the session. It also offers portfolio tools, charts and mutual fund coverage.
7. Mint
Mint is strong on explanatory reporting across markets, companies, the economy and policy. It is where I go for context, not for prices.
How to use them together
- Find an idea or a news item on ET Markets, Mint or Moneycontrol.
- Open the company on Screener to see whether the numbers support the story.
- Confirm the key facts in the original filing on NSE or BSE.
- Look at the chart on Investing.com or Moneycontrol if timing matters to you.
Features and pricing on these sites change, so check each one for what is currently free.
FAQ
Which is the best website for Indian stock market analysis?
For fundamentals, Screener is one of the most useful. For official information, the NSE and BSE websites are the primary sources.
Where can I find official company filings in India?
On the NSE India and BSE India websites, where listed companies are required to file results, shareholding patterns and announcements.
Are stock market forums reliable?
Not on their own. Forum posts are often speculative, so check any claim against the company’s filings before acting.
